Khalaifat Company W.L.L, a company incorporated under the laws of Kingdom of Bahrain (referred to herein as "Khalaifat Company W.L.L.", "we", "our" or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy online. This Privacy Policy discloses the privacy practices for participating websites of Khalaifat and its affiliated companies, currently comprising of www.khalaifat.com and their related domains, sites, services and tools, or any successor site (jointly or severally referred as "Participating Website", as the context so require). The number of Participating Websites may also vary in the course of time. This Privacy Policy (the "Privacy Policy") describes the ways in which we collect, store, use and protect the information collected due to your use of Participating Website. By providing us with your information you expressly consent to us processing your personal information in accordance with the terms of the Privacy Policy.

Change in the Privacy Policy: Changes in law or changes in Khalaifat Company may require changes to be made to the terms of this Privacy Policy from time to time so Khalaifat encourages you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any such changes. It is your responsibility to carefully read, agree with the Privacy Policy on each occasion you use the Participating Website and your continued use of the Participating Website shall signify your acceptance to be bound by the latest Privacy Policy.

The Information we collect about you may be broadly described in following categories:

Personal Information: Your name, address, phone number, email address, user name, password, billing and credit card information, order history, feedback, IP address and location, digital device name, type and configuration, details relating to your download of Publications via the Service (including details relating to the time of the download, any interruptions, and the success or failure of the downloads), the URL from which you accessed the Participating Website, demographic information, and other such 'Personal Information'.

General Information: We also receive more general information from you as a result of your visits to, and use of, the Participating Website. This general information does not identify you personally, and can include information such as your IP address, the length of time you spend on the Participating Website, your browsing history, and other such 'General Information'.

Khalaifat collects your Personal Information to enable us, amongst other things, to provide the Participating Website and our Services to you. We take all steps reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorised access, use, alteration, disclosure or destruction of Personal Information. If Khalaifat is sold to a third party, or Khalaifat otherwise becomes subject to a merger, consolidation or acquisition, it would become necessary for us to transfer your Personal Information to a third party, and in such case Khalaifat would require that the third party handles your Personal Information with no less care than taken by us.

The email address you provide for order processing will only be used to send you information and updates related to your order. It may also be used to respond to your enquiries and requests. If you decide to opt-in to our mailing list, you'll receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. You can unsubscribe from our email list at any time by following the instructions included at the bottom of each email, or by contacting us via our Participating Website.

Other than as may be required in order to operate the Participating Website, or as otherwise described in the Participating Website Terms and Conditions or these Terms, we disclose your Personal Information to third parties only as reasonably required to protect the rights and safety of ourselves and Participating Website users or as required by law enforcement authorities. Khalaifat operational purposes include, without limitation:

Khalaifat use of other companies and/or individuals to perform functions on its behalf (e.g. processing credit card payments, providing customer service, domestic or international data hosting/storage services on cloud or otherwise), and in such circumstances these companies or individuals will be provided access to only such Personal Information required to fulfil their functions (and only on the agreement that they not use your Personal Information for any other purposes); and

Purposes intended to deliver publications to you, verify your account information, verify access to publications, determine whether you meet the minimum system requirements for use of the Service, provide you tailored content and instructions, targeted promotions, provide customer support, and seek your input regarding Khalaifat and the Participating Website.

  • Personal data which we collect about you

    Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

    We collect a variety of information about our customers and visitors to Khalaifat website/ App. This personal data falls into these categories:

    Identity Data includes first name, last name or similar identifier and an encrypted version of your login/password. If you interact with us through social media, this may include your social media user name.

    Contact Data includes billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone numbers.

    Transaction Data includes details about payments to and from you and other details of products and services you have purchased from us.

    Profile Data includes your username and password (encrypted), purchases or orders made by you, preferences/reviews, feedback and survey responses, as well as any profile data which we have added (for example, using analytics and profiling).

    Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.

    Usage Data includes information about how you use our website or mobile application, products and services.

    We do not collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

    Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

    • Where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation. For example, keeping records of our sales for tax compliance.

    • To communicate with your acquaintances regarding your wish list (shopping from Khalaifat)

    • To share Khalaifat marketing communication

    • Advertising, marketing and your communications preferences

    We may use your Identity, Contact, Technical, Tracking, Usage and Profile Data to form a picture of what we think you may want or need, or what may be of interest to you. This is how we decide which products, services and offers may be relevant for you and tell you about them. This is what we call direct marketing.

    We may carry out direct marketing by email, phone, text or post. For example, you might have the Khalaifat letter hit your inbox or a cool promotion land on your door mat.

    We may share your personal data with the parties set out below for the purposes set out in this privacy policy. We may also share your personal data if the law otherwise allows it.

    We may share personal data with the following categories third parties:

    Suppliers and service providers (such as technology service providers, payment processing and fraud prevention providers, manufacturers and post and courier services);

    Auditors and professional advisers like bankers, lawyers, accountants and insurers; Government, regulators and law enforcement.

    We also share data with third parties connected to advertising, retargeting and analytics.

    We may also share the data with third parties to whom we may choose to sell, transfer, or merge parts of our business or our assets. Alternatively, we may seek to acquire other businesses or merge with them. If a change happens to our business, then the new owners may use your personal data in the same way as set out in this privacy policy.

    We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

  • Payment information

    Khalaifat uses third party payment processors CrediMax and BenefitPay to process payments made for products and services via the Website or mobile application. All online payments will be conducted in accordance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security standards (which are high!) and your billing information (which is only used by these payment processors for the purpose of performing fraud protection) is encrypted before being communicated to them. Subject to the below exceptions, your credit card details are communicated directly from your browser to these payment processors - Khalaifat never (ever!) see your full Permanent Account Number (PAN). This means that the payment form is either off-site or displayed in a frame on the payment page.

    For CrediMax and BenefitPay Payments, if on the payment page you have requested that your card details be remembered (it’s such a timesaver!) and the payment was successful, your browser stores the payment credentials as an associated token.

  • Third-party links

    This website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications (for example, the ability to sign in with Facebook). Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our website, we encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.

  • Change in your personal data

    It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your relationship with us. You can do this by updating your account.
